Photoshoot Sessions In Norfolk, VA Supporting Local Artists

A few weekends back, I carved out half a day for a series of 20-minute mini photoshoot sessions in Norfolk, VA. The proceeds from this venture are going to support local artists, contributing to a creative event that will be held on Good Friday honoring Jesus. My friend Sophia and I have poured a lot of intentionality and prayer into this collaboration. We share a strong conviction that there is power in creativity. We are both passionate artists and teachers who love people and purpose to embrace true identity, diversity, and authenticity.

This free event will take place at Coalescence Coffee Company https://www.coalescencecoffee.com from 7-9PM on March 29th. You can expect visual art, live art, worship, interactive booths, spoken word, hip hop dance, and of course lots of coffee and snacks!

Being new to the area, I have had to start over in my pursuit of photography in Norfolk, VA. The concept of “mini sessions” hasn’t always been my go-to for financial gains in a business sense, and truth be told, I don’t necessarily endorse it for that purpose. However, it has proven to be a creative way of fundraising for good causes, or a simple way to connect with incredible people.

The turnout was heartening, with families and individuals showing up to support! As a lifestyle photographer, my focus extends beyond mere poses; I thrive on capturing personalities and authenticity. I might start with a pose, but my goal is to break it. I also have a background in high fashion and editorial. You will see glimpses of this style throughout my work as well. Over the years I have learned that the focus of photoshoots is more than just your subject, and more than just the photographer. It really is a relational collaboration. The atmosphere of the day was nothing short of a positive and fun dynamic throughout the entire experience. Every participant displayed kindness, generosity, and a willingness to embrace creativity as easy going and encouraging individuals. Sophia and I love and thank you all!
