As a Virginia Beach wedding photographer, we feel honored when couples invite us into their celebration—and this Jewish wedding at the Neon House was exactly that. Jewish people know how to have a good time! In May, DNA Studios had the honor of capturing a vibrant and heartfelt celebration right in the heart of the Neon District of downtown Norfolk, and it was one of our most memorable weddings to date.
A Laid-Back, Joy-Filled Wedding Day in the Neon District
From the start of the day, the energy was different—in the best way. This couple was, without a doubt, the most laid-back bride and groom we’ve ever photographed. Their morning flowed with ease as they got ready at the Neon House, giving us space to be creative with portraits and document each moment without pressure or a tight timeline. It’s a rarity to get to photograph a wedding day this smooth.
We had a blast creating bridal portraits using studio lighting for a dramatic, editorial feel. Then we stepped outside to take full advantage of the Neon District’s iconic murals and urban art—perfect for bold and vibrant wedding photography in Virginia Beach.
Jewish Traditions + Creative Touches
Documenting this wedding was a meaningful experience. We loved getting to witness and photograph a few of their traditions such as signing the Ketubah, breaking of the glass, and the horah, adding a rich cultural layer to the story.
Chef By Design, who we’ve had the pleasure of working with before, catered the wedding and helped the couple bring together a beautiful, stylish atmosphere for their reception.
